I woke up from my nap in the surgical ward from Hank's coughing. I opened my eyes and looked over to Hank on the bed. I leaned in close to him and wrapped my arm on his chest. He placed his hand on mine as he coughed up some words. "What happened? Where am I?"
"It's okay, Hank. You're safe now, we're back with the Azorians." He coughed a few more times, before he laid his head back down on the pillow. He sighed in relief, before turning his head toward the direction of where Hoy would be. Unfortunately, his absence made Hank's expression form disappointment. I nodded my head and patted my hand onto his chest. "I know, I'm sorry. I couldn't save him in time."
Hank didn't speak, he only looked up to the ceiling in obvious sadness. I could tell that he was feeling broken inside. "But hey, everybody else is safe. Your family is as well, they'd be happy to come visit you." Hank nodded, before looking up to me.
"Do they know about Hoy?" I nodded to him. Then, I looked back to the ceiling. "Then, I'd like to see them, please?" I nodded, before getting up and beginning to head toward the door. I opened the door and walked out. I met three other Hunkles sitting in chairs within the hallway. Two of which appeared to be older than Hank, possibly the parents. The third was about the size of an average ten year old for humans. I gestured for them to go inside before taking a seat as well.
Before I knew it, I was alone in the hallway. Bellhic was in a meeting with other leaders of the Azorian military. As a result, I was left to tell Hank about what happened while we was unconscious. Telling him that my only friend was the reaper was essential. Having to wait longer than I was hoping for made me disappointed.
I decided to wait patiently, raising up the sword to my eye level. With nothing better to do, I examined the swords' imprinted symbols. As expected, the symbols were unreadable since I didn't understand them. I shrugged it off not long after and sighed with boredom. Waiting was going to be the end of me at this point. Robanians were rampaging and I didn't have any assistance.
That's when an idea came flowing through my brain. I remembered that Hank wasn't the only one on the old Robanian spaceship. I could go get the 2D guy named Ethan, the unicorn named Joraline and the fluffy creature named Sparkles. I haven't seen or heard about them since we departed from each other. I have to ask Hank about them while he recovers.
I got up from the chair and opened the door to the ward. The family surrounded Hank and appeared to be in a deep conversation. I rush over beside Hank, "Hey, bud. Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, sure." He tells his family to hold on a second, before turning to me.
"Okay, I need to know if either Sparkles, Ethan or Joraline is available to help us." Hank's expression was startled by the question, but was able to respond relatively quickly after I asked it.
"Um, well I don't know if you know this. But Joraline is. . . Dead." My eyes widened to this new information. I take a step back and begin to question how in my mind. "I never heard or saw him leave the spaceship."
"Do you know where he came from at least?"
Hank shrugs and sighs in sadness, "I. . . I have no idea. He never said where he came from. It's like. . . He just magically appeared one day." I'm confused by this statement, not sure how to process it. If it's true that he's dead, then the one magic user who could help is gone. Which means, we are left in the dark.
"Well, what about the other two?"
"They're fine! They're back home where they belong." I start to get demanding.
"Where are they? They can help us defeat the battleships."
Hank shakes his head. "I'm sorry, Floyd. Ethan and Sparkles most likely won't help us with this. They know full well that it'd be suicide for them."
"Gosh dang it, if nobody can help. Then, I suppose I'm going to have to go alone." Hank stops me by grabbing my arm.
"Floyd, I know you want them to be defeated and save your planet. However, sometimes it's best to wait. . ." I look down at him eagerly. "Trust me." The eagerness slowly faded, I finally sighed and relaxed myself.
"Okay, fine. You're right, I'll wait." A smile appeared on his face before. He lets go of my arm, and I look up to his family. "I'm sorry for interrupting, you guys can continue. . ." His parents nod as I turn and begin to make my way out of the room again. He might say that they can't help, but I wasn't going to sit around and do nothing productive.
I decide to make my way down the hallway. Starting to find a way to Bellhic and speak to him. Even if the Azorian army can't help. At least I can ask them for some information that might be useful to use. Maybe, I can find places that the Robanians are attacking currently and can put a stop to them.
~ ~ ~
I found Bellhic leaving a large room that appeared to be a counsel room. He was talking to two other dragons that had white beards under their chins and white eyebrows. Possibly on the older side for both of them. I walk over to them eagerly, "Bellhic." This caught the attention of the three of them instantly. Bellhic had a large grin as our eyes met.
"Oh, hello! I'd like you both to meet the AzLean Soldier. He's helping us defeat the Robanian army." They both grinned as they came over to me and shook hand-claws. After we were done greeting, Bellhic made a joke that resulted in the three of them laughing.
I rolled my eyes, "Bellhic can I speak to you please?" Bellhic nodded before dismissing them. The two dragons walked away, which left me and Bellhic alone.
"Alright, what's the matter?" I stepped up closer to him.
"I don't suppose you guys have more information about the Robanians possible attacks, do you?" His grin faded as he begun thinking for a second. Then, his eyes lit up when he realized something.
"Actually, I believe I do! Follow me, I'll tell you." He begins to lead the way, which I follow willingly. Eventually, we made our way to an office that appeared to be specifically Bellhic's. Upon walking into the room, Bellhic rushed over to his hologram computer and turned it on. He started to remove stuff and bring up stuff to view. I watched him for a second before examining his office.
On the wall, I saw pictures of various Azorian dragon military officers. It appeared to be reward pictures of different roles Bellhic used to be. From the bottom, all the way to the second in command as he is now. The second in command picture showed another dragon beside him with the same badge as him. I stared at the image for a second before asking him a question. "Who's this other dragon beside you?"
Bellhic turned around and looked toward me and the picture. His face lit up with excitement, "Oh! That's good ol' Clabber. He's the other second in command of the military. He focuses more on our external military. I'm more in charge of the ground troops."
"Huh, you never met the one in full charge?" I look through each photo again, but don't see one that might show they are a higher ranking.
"Unfortunately, the king doesn't congratulate the lower attendants. He's very busy with planning and keeping order. However, I do get to meet him in the meetings. We get together to talk about what we should do next, and what is happening currently." Bellhic looked down at my sword in my hand. "In fact, today's meeting was about you. Everyone knows about you, even the king."
"How come we haven't met yet?" He shrugs.
"He apparently wants to wait until you do what you told us you were going to do. Defeat the battleships, doing that will gain your trust to meet him fully."
"Huh, makes sense." I look over to him as he brings up something on the hologram computer screen. It was a report from an external officer, and it was talking about a recent attack on a planet not far from here. Though, it didn't appear to be related to the Hunkles. Instead, it was talking about some other unfamiliar species I never heard of before. "An attack?" I ask out loud for Bellhic to hear.
"It appears to have happened five hours ago, shortly after the Hunkles." I growl a little in frustration.
"Gosh dang it, so they are attacking innocent lives." I say with a frustrated tone. "I can't just stay here and let them do this." Bellhic stopped me as he placed a claw on my shoulder.
"Hold on there. You have to think before making a decision of attack. If you're not careful, you could drag us in by accident." I slowly calmed down as I knew he was right. "Besides, are you sure you can take on the Grandmaster? You still don't know what he's capable of."
"How am I supposed to know if I don't stand up and fight him?"
Bellhic shrugged, "I'm not sure, but just think first before deciding. I know you're eager, I get it. I'm losing my patience as well with them too. Every time I look at these reports, I grow more frustrated. The only thing we can do is wait until Hank recovers." I sigh and nod in sadness and defeat.
"You're right, I know." I nod my head before turning around and looking down to the floor. I begin to think for myself about what to do next. I can't keep waiting here, even if it means the recovery of Hank. However, I know that taking on Grandmaster without supervision or assistance could mean disaster. "Just, how am I supposed to be productive here? What am I supposed to do to help?"
Bellhic thinks for a second, before getting a brilliant idea. His expression lit up, "I have an idea, take this." Bellhic hands me over an earpiece. I placed it in my ear as he continued. "I'll let the external officer know that you're going out to find Robanian spaceships. You can try and destroy as much as you can until Hank recovers." I nod in understanding.
"Sounds like a good idea." I tell him with a grin.
"Agreed, with you taking out their army forces. It should weaken their forces for when we need to strike down the road." I nod in approval, before watching as Bellhic tapped onto the hologram computer screen. Bringing up a call with the other second in command Azorian officer, Clabber.
Once Clabber answered, Bellhic spoke first. "Hey Clabber, I'm sending the AzLean Soldier out to do a special mission for us. He's going to take out vulnerable Robanian spacecraft. I want you to lead him to special spots you believe are perfect spots." My
Clabber's voice was heard from the other end as a bit elderly. A bit of a raspy voice, but still comprehensible. "Sounds like a good idea. Does he have an earpiece?"
"Connecting you to him now." Bellhic moved something on the hologram screen. I heard my earpiece make a small jingle to show it connected properly. I heard Clabber on the other end.
"Hello, I'm going to help you locate Robanian spaceships to attack. I know a few perfect spots to hit." I grin as I look over to Bellhic. We nodded to each other, before I followed Bellhic out of the room. He turned off the lights in the room, and said goodbye to me. I waved back to him as I started to make my way to the runway.
